Few more twigs

Yet another Guestbook posting, this time on the subject of the GALE descendants on my DAWE tree, those living in BC, Canada.  As the updates are within the living generations they probably wont appear on the charts etc.
Thanks Curt.

Ever hopeful

Thought I'd found a connection between the  FAMILTONs I was researching today and my DAWE/GALE twigs: Northumberland and Devon. Still wondering how come they met!
Closer inspection however showed that there were two Martha GALEs of an age born Devon around 1830, one the niece of the John GALE who married Betsy DAWE, the other the daughter of a Maria GALE. The latter's daughter is the one who married Thomas Potts FAMILTON of Preston.

Wondering where I've been?
Check out the FAIRBAIRN and RUNCIMAN project diaries and/or the recent change indexes for their respective One Name Studies, along with the FAMILTON DNA project diary. One day we'll find a willing candidate or two to test the theories on how some of the trees inter-relate.

Those aside here has been some DAW activity following Sheila's posting on my Guestbook with the current investigation being whether or not the Maud Millicent DAWE that Fredy DAW married was a relation?  Jury still out.

17th: Honor confirmed

While adding Gladys ROWE into the copy of the tree I keep on Ancestry I deviated into attaching some available census data to Isaac Smith DAWE.
One thing always leads to another, and as Isaac and Betsey had grddtr Honor GALE born Marystow living with them in 1851, I also included her in the ancestry tree (where I can link to sources found there) and realised I'd never confirmed my suspicions from 2006 that she had married a John CREES.
Back then FreeBMD could only provide a John CREES(E) who married in 1863, but no matching Honor. Which is now explained as they actually married in 1870.
There are a couple of trees researching this family from the CREES side, so I am reasonably happy that the id is correct.

Feb 18, 2008: More HAMLEY, and some DAWE

More work done on the family of Hugh HAMBLY/HAMLEY and Elizabeth ROWE. I've included their grandson William Henry HAMLEY on my web pages as at least one other researcher has different findings as to what happened to him.
My findings appear to agree with a descendant in Toronto, so I'm comfortable with what I have, even without a crucial marriage cert. to clinch the id one way or the other (married to either Ellen Ann GILL or to Martha WOODHOUSE).

ROWE chart updated, as is the DAWE chart as I've been found by a descendant of Betsy DAWE & John GALE via their son Samuel (see postings in my guestbook for further details)
